MONEY MARKET. The Bank of Entcland discount rate was on January 2, 1914, reduced from 6 to 41 per cent., on January 22 it was reduced to 4 per,cent., and on January 28 3 per cent. On July 30 the rate was raised to 4 per cent.,' and on July 31 it waß raised to 8 per cent., and.on Aueust 1 it waß further advanced to 10 per cont. On August 6 the rate waß reduoed to 6 per cent., on August 7 it waß further reduced to 5 Der cent., on July 13, 1916, it was raised to 6 per cent., on January 12, 1917, it was reduced to 61 per cent., and on Anril 5 it was further reduced to * per cent. OPEN MARKET KATES. The open market discount rate for thrco months' bills at 43 -per cent, as compared ■with 4 13-16 per cent, .last week, and 6 9-16 pel- cent, last year.
