THE NEW SOUTH WALES STRIKE
HITCH IN NEGOTIATIONS
STATE OPENING THE MINES
(Rec. September 26, 10.40 p.m.)
Sydney, September 26.
Contrary to expectations the coal conference failed to agree. The Miners' Federation rejected the Government's proposals, maintaining that a certain clause provided for the victimisation of members. Negotiations have been suspended, notwithstanding the fact that the Government intends to open all the mines for general resumption next Wednesday, and give the miners an opportunity to obviato the. necessity for a further introduction- of new labour.— Press Assn.
