MIRAMAR BOROUGH
MEETING OP THE COUNCIL. The Mayor (Sir. P. Townsend) preesided over the meeting of the Minimal' Borough Council held last evening. There were also present Councillors S. H. Underwood J. Pollock, and H. K. Robertshawj, Mr., W. B. Douglit/s application for a permit to build a motor-shed in a special position was granted. A lottor was received from Mr. D. K. Blair calling attention to tho state of the footpath on tho road near Overton - Park, and asking that ropaire be effected. Tho letter was referred to the borough engineer to deal with. Mrs. French wrote requesting sewer extension near 'her property. The cost of this was estimated at .£3l. Tho application was granted on the usual terms, the council to pav half the cost. The Miramar Golf Club wrote with respect to drainage that ttie club was ready to sign the necessary agreement. The Education Board wrote with respect to tho charge for water, and asking the council to remit tho sum of 125., which was ehaTged against the board. The council decided to again state that it was unable to omply with the request. The Green Island ' Borough Council's letter with respoct to war bonus payments to Civil Servants was received.
