SWIMMING
WORSER BAY CLUB'S REPORT. The report of the Wurser liny Amateur Swimming and Lito-ikviug Club, to be presented at the annual meeting on September 26, states that tho club has had a very successful season, tho weather, having been perfect, and the junior and lutly members taking a great interest in tile racing and life-saving classes. The membership of the club now stands at 1!)4, of which 91 aro seniors, 37 ladies, and (iG juniors. Early in the season extensive improvements were earned out in the interior of the club shed, and the club is much indebted to Mr. E. Collie for presenting linoleum for covering the walls, while the outside of tho building was freshened up with paint and new timbers put on the approach. T'he club lias been favoured this season by special donations of trophies and a new cup. For the latter, the "De Rose Memorial Cup" to perpetuate the memory of the late Mr. F. tie Rose, who had been a member of the committee since the foundation of the club, the club has to thank Mr. and Mrs. Lynam. The elnb is indebted to Mr. E. Collie for-a troplry for Indies' competition over three distances, and trophies for tho winner of cach. dis- | tancc, and' also a trophy for the imnll girls. Tho thanks of tho club are also due to Mr. AV. W. Rountreo for donations for a medley race, boys under 11 years, and also for the trouble'he l'.ns taken with the school children during the season. The pupils o£ the Worso' - Bay School have had the use of Hie ciiw shed one afternoon a woelc .during tho summer, and Mr.' R. TI. Davenport presented medals to the l>oy and girl showing most improvement in swimming. Tlmse ilems were kindly- .indued by Messrs. G. S. TTiU and W. IT. Coy. and were won by Frank Norton Taylor and Ruth Frasor respectively. Owing to the splendid efforts of Gabriel Redwood it "•ns decided to award him a special nrize. The teaching of life-having has been token up vigorously, and, uncW tho inle tuition of Mr. Collier, of the Rnval LifeSaving Sociolj, classes were held oif' tho Woreer Bav b"aeli. A number of mem-' hers submitted Iheinselvos for examinations. and 51 obtained nvn fi eioncy certifientes and lo bronze medallions.
