RAUKAWA CLEARING SALE.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—On. Wednesday ire held, an unreserved clearing sale of pedigree Jersey cattle, dairy cows, and hoifers, sheep, horses, pigs, implements, and sundries at Baukawaj-.on behalf of Mr. 'Andrew Buchanan. The day was wintry, and though the attendance suffered in consequence, there were over one hundred and fifty buyers present from all parts of the North Island. The Jerseys were in .excellent condition, and were the. subject of much favourable comment. The grade cows and heifers in milk and springing sold at very reasonable prices, which must bo* considered satisfactory. The implements were in good order and variety, and met with a. fair demand. Quotations :— Pedigree Jerseys—Lot 8, Senbrita, 81 guineas, to Mr. Bowker, Shannon; Lot 9, Jersey Holme Queen, 61 guineas, to Mr. S. B. Lancaster, Palmerston North; Lot 10, Creametta, 31 guineas, to Mr. Bowker; Lot 13, Queen of the Dairy,' 38 guineas; to Mr. S. B. Lancaster; Lot 14, Signonna, 81 guineas, to Mr. E. P. Wilkinson, Pukekohe; Lot 15, Greenfields Kate, 40 guineas, to Mr. Lancaster; Lot 16, Greenfields Lassie, 39 guineas, to Mr. Lancaster; Lot 18, Primula, 29 guineas, to Mr. E. Pratt, Palmerston North; Lot 19, Primrose of Jersey Holme, 50 guineas, to Mr. S. R. Lancaster; Lot 21. Earita, 65 guineas, to Mr. 11,1'. Wilkinson; Lot 27. Queen of the Island, 30 guinoae, to Mr. W. H. Booth, Carterton; Lot 28, heifer Patricienne, 2G guineas, to Mr. R. E. Wilkinson; Lot 3d, heifer Eidelitv, 15 guineas, to Mr. W. H. Booth; Lot 29, heifer Senora, 30 guineas, to Mr. W. H. Booth. Bull-Jersey Holme King, to Mr. H. B. Toose, Feilding, 21 guineas. ■ Dairy cows and heifers—The herd of 70 head realised an average of £8 10s. per head, the best prices ranging from £U to J!ts. Sheep— Romney owes and lambs, J32 16s. Gd.; pi re-bred ewes and lambs, ,£4 Is. to -E5; purebred ewo hoggets, £2 lis. to J% 10s ; ; purebred ewes and lambs, £1 Is. io £a; guineas, 9J. guineas, 13 guiguineas, 16 guineas, to 22 guineas; Ryland Tains. 2 guineas. Woaner cattle, £i. Sows in pig. £1 lis.; naconers, £2 2s. .£lo.' Brown gelding, aged, .£9; mediumaged draught mare. J826; bay gelding, ,ClO. Milking plant, .£9l; circular saw, JES 17s. 6d.; dray, £U; wagon, .£ls; roller. ,£l2 10s.: Dimoan plough, £6 10s.; hay stacker,'£7'los.; mowing-machine, .£10; potato'digger, .£5; and other lots at cquallv good prices. Owing to the large number of lots tho pedigree bulls and horses were not all sold. The auctioneers will offer these at Palnierston North ou OctoW 10 and 16 respectively.
