SOUTHERN MARKETS
Bjr Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, September 14. An odd line or two of oata low and again come on- the market, and it is reported that a fairly large line of wheat has recently been sold. There is etui a fair amount of business being done in oat-sheaf chaff. The. potato market, after being somewhat doubtful for a few days, has weakened, and the best price I "now obtainable by growers is £3, at country stations, and buyers are inclined to offer even less money. The cause of the decline is said to be the fairly heavy purchases made by merchants during the last fortnight.
