RETURNED SOLDIERS
GENERAL MEETING OP ASSOCIATION. A general meeting of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association was held in the club rooms on Monday evening, and there was an attendance of about CO members. Mr. J. D. Uarper presided. The chairman stated that tho only matter arising out of the minutes was connected with tho Victoria Ward. Sinco tho last meeting a visiting committco was set up, and tho men in the ward were now perfectly satisiiod. They were receiving plenty of cigarettes and Mother extras. Tho meeting then proceeded to the election of five members on tho committco of the Club Houso 1 Society, the sixth member to be the chairman of tho Houso Committee. The election resulted n.s follows: —Colonel .T. G. Hughes. D.5.0., G. Munro, ,T. D. Harper, H. Wild, an-1 tr. W. Glintard.
It was decided that it should bo a recommendation to the next conference that the constitution should be so altered as to admit nurses who had served abroad as members of the Empire's Forces. The suggestion favoured was that nurses should bo allowed honorary membership and given a distinctive badge. The chairman stated that !!00 members of the Wellington Association wore nnfinancial, and lie issued u. final warning that if (lio subscriptions were not paid promptly tho defaulting members would Ijo nspelled. A warning was also issued against tho wearing of badges by unauthorised persons. . The House Committee members were elected a.s follow: —Messrs. ICitt, Uohlson, Kyle, Hudson, Spear, Ciascoyne, Sherwood, Lang, Smith, Lawry, AVilks, olid Coleman.
