At this week's meeting of the above society Mr. J. H. Richardson occupied tho chair. The subject was a debate-. "That the Advent of Women into Industrial Occupations is not m the Best Interests of tie State." was taken bv Messrs. F. .T. .BrooUer, H. n. Cornish, 33. Hobte, D. Patterson, and AV A. Patterson, while tho negative Bido was led by Mr. J. M. Dale, who was supported 'by Mi» M. Suntoland. Mrs T. Piiße, Messra. Ij. G. lucUci, vv. A ppieton; ,n,<i J. H. Richardson On he resolution being put to ft vote of tho meeting the affirmative was earned by d email majority. At tho next mooting of the society Mr. G. Kwten,U£-,CMh., will deliver a lecture on "Earthquakes.
