Tho mine manager of tho Sylvia Beefs, Ltd., reports under date Augut 31:—"During the week tho following work nan been in progress: In the drive north of the main crosscut advanced 10 feet. Tho reef lias come together again, through tho horse of mullock, and is wider than the drive and fairly well mineralised. In the south end wo are running a stopo along. The reef is 5 feet wide and well mineralised, and showing a littlo free gold. Not much' work was done in the, level south owing to. shortage of. labour."
