CITY ORGAN RECITALS
CAN THEY BE POPULARISED? "Can anything be done to popularise our organ recitals?" Councillor B. A. Wright asked the Mayor at the City Council last evening. He suggested tuat the recitals should have good vocal numbers infused into them. The Mayor said that the City Organist (Mr. Page) was a man of. very artistic temperament, and one who desired to do his utmost to improve the standard of music in the city. Councillor M. 1 , . liuckie: He has the 'highest testimonials in the Dominion. _ The Mayor: I have been, told by visitors 'who have heard Mr. Pago s waitals that they considered it the most beautiful music they had heard in any part of the world. Nevertheless, I think that we might adopt Councillor Wrights Lnclcie: You will ne«r get a crowd on Saturday night! _ ■ - Councillor L. MTtenzie: Hold them on Sunday, and you will be light!
