CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS
GOVERNMENT URGED TO PROVIDE NON-MILITARY SERVICE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, September 3. The Ohristchurch Ministers Association passed the following resolutions:-' That the Chi istchurch Ministers' Association, 'having heard details of the sufferings ot conscientious objectors, urges on the Government that all conscientious objectors should be offered absolutely non-military service of a type useful to the State, and at military rates of pay; the association believes such a settlement would, relieve the very grave difficulties /hat have emerged in administering the Military Service Act." "That the Ministers Association having heard that certain confcicntious objectors have been recently tieported from New Zealand, protest* to the against such action bj the authorities."
