KARORI BOROUGH AFFAIRS
.MEETING OF THE-COUNCIL. The fortnightly meotinpf. of the Karori Borough Council was hold on Tuesday.' The Mayor (Mr. B. (i. 11. Burn) presided, and thoro were also present: Councillors W. Skcgg, R, L. Tiugey,' T. W. Lower, •W.-G. BradnocV, A. Hamilton, and J. Mackenzie Tho Minister of Knanco (tJio Eight Hon. Sir Joseph Ward) wrote asking fop the assistance and co-operation' of the .members of the council in 'making Wio .£12,000,000 Win- Loa.ll a. success. The council decided to givo its fullest support, to tho loan. It was decided to hold a public meeting in connection with tho matter, the Mayor to make Iho necessary arrangements. . .
Tho Wellington Hockey Association, like other sports bodies, has suffered very severely from the <vnr through.' the loss of membors, and' consequently tho association ia heavily in debt to tho council for rent of playing' grounds at Karorl l'ark. Letters were received from the Association indicating the steps that were being taken.in an endeavour to liquidate the debt.
