A SUITE OF FURNITURE
Peter Cornelius Young, of Levin, in July last saw an advertisement in a newspaper in which William Thompson, of Tasman Street, Wellington, offered a suito of furituro for sale at X 7 15s. Young communicated with Thompson by telegraph, and it was eventually arranged that the price should be .67, and at Thompson's request Young telegraphed 'that amount: Certain negotiations followed, but the suite of furniture was never received by Young. Yesterday in the Magistrate's Court, before Mr. L. <jReid, S.M., Mr. G, Hutchison who appeared for Young, said: "I think this case should be made public, so as to prevent others being victimised: He contended that the case was r*sed on fraud. Young claimed from Thompson the sum of .£lO on a judgment summons, and the Magistrate ordered Thompson to pay tTic amoi\it, and allowed plamtitt costs. The claim of .£lO was made up of the cost of the suite of furniture and damages. Tho allegation of fraud was not proved.
