SCOTTISH SOCIETY

On TTedncsday night St. Peter's Hall was filled to its utmost limits when the Scottish Society held the second of a series of plain and fancy-dress socials. As prizes wero awarded to the wearers of dresses of the most original designs, the largo assemblage found it no easy task to determine, their votes where there wero 60 many evidences not only of originnlity but also of exquisite taste in the matter of dress. After the ballot was counted tho Chief announced that ■Miss Grant, as "Jlaori Girl," took premier position amongst the ladies, Mrs. Jluir as "Ruination" second place, and Miss M'Lellan ,ib "Butterfly" third. Amongst the men, Mr/Hill as "Golliwog" came first, Mr. Shaw as "Charlie Chaplin" second, and Mr. R. A. Campbell as "Spanish Dancer" third.
