Tho weather in ■Wellington yesterday was mild and pleasant. Light rain fell in tho morning, but tho latter part of the day was fine. Other parts of the country wcro less fortunate. Rain has visited many districts, and in tho highlands of tho South Island snow has fallen. Tho i barometer, is unsteady, but a rise in the south is expected soon.
