WEATHER UNSETTLED
Tho weather in ■Wellington yesterday was mild and pleasant. Light rain fell in tho morning, but tho latter part of the day was fine. Other parts of the country wcro less fortunate. Rain has visited many districts, and in tho highlands of tho South Island snow has fallen. Present indications, according to the official forecast, are for strong nor'-wost to eou'west winds, with unsettled, cold, Mid equally conditions. Rain is probable generally. Tho i barometer, is unsteady, but a rise in the south is expected soon.
