BILLIARDS
The Cr,v6falato Cup Amateur Club Championship advanced a further stage last night, when two representative's of the Petone Working Men's Club defeated two candidates from the local Postal staff. Tho first game was between P. G. Devine, Petone Working Men's Club, and It. I'. M'Kay, Post and Telegraph Club. Tho formor, playing excppj,ionally good billiards, had little difficulty with his opponent, who was not,playing up to Ins usual form. In tho second game, H. Stono, Petono Working lien's Club, ran away from J. Brackenridge, of the Mail Koom Club, and secured victory jiy a substantial majority. This was Brackenridge's first appearance, and it was apparent that ho did not do himself justice. Tho best breaks of the evening were: Devine, 31, 2t>, 23; M'Kay,24;Stone, 21, 30, 28, 3G, 2!). To-night play will commence at Alcock's showrooms, at 7 o'clock, tho players being G. Stewart, Wellington Working Men's Club, v. If. C. Sim, Civil Service Club; and J. P. Key, Wellington Working Men's Club, v. A. Waken, Dominion Club.
