THE STOCKHOLM CONFERENCE
DIFFICULTY ABOUT THE MEETING PLACE. Stockholm, August 14. An endeavour will possibly bo mado to hold the Socialist Conference at Christiania or another Scandinavian city, as tho authorities at Stockholm have declined to grant the use of a hall for the purpose of tho conference.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. BRITISH LABOUR ADHERES TO ITS DECISION. (Rec. August 15, 8.35 p.m.) London, August 14. The "Evening Standard" states that tho Labour Executive has adhered to its attitude on the Stockholm Conference, and appointed eight delegates. It is rumoured that somo of the members of the executive want to withdraw tho Lahour representatives from the Government. Tho Exchange Telegraph Agency states that tho executive has appointed its delegates provisionally, and recommended that passports bo applied for. To. night's conference with tho ParliamontI ary Committee of tho Labour Party will discuss these decisions.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
