WAR RELIEF APPEAL

A meeting of the Executive of the War ■Fund Collecting Committee was held yesterday, the Mayor presiding.

■ It was resolved—"(l) That the Our Day appeal for Eed Cross funds, together with an appeal for tho Blind Soldiers and Sailors' Fund, be made forthwith, tho said appeal to terminate on October 18. (2) That from October 18 until Christmas tho appeal should bo for the puirposo of raiding funds for Hie Navy League. (3), Tha't a big appeal for raising funds on behalf of the War Roliof Association should lie commenced early next year." The "silver bullet" .scheme was deferred. The' following; inner executive was appointed:—The Mayor, Mcsdninra .7. P. Luke Peiirce, W. Nathan, Myers, Messrs'. Marcus Marks, 1?. W. Wanton, M. Carr, L. Tripp, T. Young; treasurer. Mr. J. M'liitosh: secroary, Mr. R. A. Phelps. A meeting of this committee will take place hi tho Mayor's room to-morrow at S o'clock.
