One speaker urged the workers to refuse to. work until Dr. Gilruth was' t>ooted"ont of the Territory neck and crop. A subsequent meeting of the leading townsmen welcomed Dr. Gilruth. At this ' meeting it was stated that the Mayor and councillors had refused to convene a meeting of the residents to welcome the Administrator.

Later on the Mayor and councillors Tisi.ted the Administrator at Government House, and an understanding was reached to work harmoniously during the present time of stress—Press Assn.
