WORKING CONDITIONS AND ■ , WAGES CLAIMED. The Wellington branch of Iho Amalgamated Society of Engineers has drawn itn a. statement', of claims regarding working conditions and wages. Any time worked on thoso days to bo paid for at double, ordiuary rate, and overtime worked on them to be paid for at doublo overtimo rates.

- It is demanded that any employer taking an. apprentice, to • learn the trade shall be deemed to undertake the duty which he agrees to perform as a duty enforceable under,the award, and shall pay such apprentice not less than the undermentioned rates of wages:—For the first-year, 12s. fid. per week;-'second year, 17s.
