(Rec. August 3, 11.25 p.m.) London, August 3. The House of Commons has debated the appointment of a Minister for Eeconstruction (Dr. Addison). Sir George Cave (Home Secretary), explained that the Government was solely responsible for matters of policy. The Minister's duty was to make early and valuable recommendations. His salary would be at the rate of X2OOO a year. The appointment was approved by 142 votes to 40.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Aesn.
