Dr. Addison (Minister for Reconstruction), addressing the representative of the chemical industries, said that Britain would only be nblo to puy for tho war by increasing her production after the war. The Government had received much information regarding Germany's preparations to increase her production, and our position would be in much danger owing to Ssr habits of muddle and drift. Britain had qstablished many industries since tho war began, and these must liot be allowed to drift into German control. The Government wouid not interfere with business, but ivas only seeking (o assist and give, guidance to manufacturers with tho idea, of giving the workers a real interest in the introduction of improved methods of manu-facture.—Aus.-N.Z.
