CITIZENS PATRIOTIC DEMONSTRATION
Sir.—lt has been suggested by seme who have bods and relatives at the front that the motion to be submitted at the citizens' meeting, to bp held in the Town Hall on August <4, should havesome acknowledgment of God. It is therefore proposed that the resolution should reßd as follows:— "That on the thiid anniversary of the declaration of a righteous war, this meet insr of citizens again record its inflexible determination by God's help to continue to a victorious end the struggle in maintenance of those ideals of liberty and justice which are the common and sacred cause of the Allies." We would ask your help.and support that this matter be brought under the notice of those arranging the meeting. It has been felt by many Christian people in this City that it was a great pity that Lord Kitchener should have sent forth the message which appeared under !iis name: "Give me the men and the munitions I need and I guarantee my personal reputation that we hold the war in the "hollow of onr hands." It is still assured of men and of nations that they that honour God He will honour, and they that despise Him shall be lightly esteemed—l am, etc., D.O.M.
