TWO DERELICT SCHOONERS

SIGHTED IN THE PACIFIC. Melbourne, July 27. The Navy Department has been advised that on July U a burnt and derelict wooden four-masted timbei'-lndeiv schooner was sighted, east of New Caledonia, in 23deg. 26min. south latitude, and 173dcg. Hmin. east longitude. On June 19 a similar derelict three-masted schooner was sighted south of the Solomon Islands, in 13deg. ,14min. south latitude, and 157deg. 35min. east longitude. There was no sign of life or identification marks visible on either vessel.— I'ress Assn.
