HARBOUR BOARD
Messrs. C. "E, Daniell (chairman), 51. Cohen, J. G. Hiirkriess, B. E. Sinclair, C. M'Arthur, W. Wallis, E, A. Wright. J. A. M'Ewan, A. M'Farlaue, J. G. C'obbe.. were present at the monthly meeting of the Harbour Board held last i-ening. Th 9 finance statement showed the following figures:—Current-account, .£50,92(1 os. 2d.; imprest account, £2895 25.; on fixed deposit, .£60,000. Payments—for interest, sinking fund, accounts and wages, ,£41,793 19s. Id.; progress payments on contracts, .£3OO lis. Gd.; salaries, .£928 7s. 7d. The chairman reported: ''That after consultation with the representatives of the/ employees the tender of Messrs. James Smith, Ltd., has been accepted for supply of uniforms for twelve months ending June' 30, 1917, and that the tender of Messrs. Charles Rill and Sons has been accepted for supply of uniform caps for same period, and that the tender of the Excelsior Clothing: Company has been accepted for the supply of uniform overcoats for fhree jearsl ending June 30, 1920." On the recommendation of tlye-Wharves, and Accounts Committee it was decided; "(1) To fix 12 noon Monday, September 3, 1917, as time and date for public drawing at offices of the board of fifty-one (51) debentures (£850,000 Consolidated Loan) for redemption on February 2S, 1918; to appoint Mr. Thomas Shailer Weston to act as Notary Public at the drawing, and to authorise the secretary to insert the necessary advertisements." "(2) To consent to transfer of foyeshore license No. 86, for boat slip, Balona Hay, from Mr. Alfred Gardner Spott to Messrs. F. Keirnan and -T. T: L. Cull, and to aflix seal to agreement.'
