SATURDAY'S MATCHES. Two Itugbv matches were played at Athletic Park on Saturday afternoon. Both were keenly contested, and the spectator!! had tho pleasure—particularly keen in these clays—of seeing some football un to the old standard, Tho Athletic-Oriental same resulted in a lraw, each team scoring three points. Rule scored a try for Athletic, and Caddick one for Oriental. Wellington College defeated the Poncke team by 17 to 6 after a very interesting contest, in which the College team showed excellent form. For College, Pope, Nicol, and Vial scored one try each, while Scott scored two tries and kicked a goal. Ward carried the ball over once for Poncke, and Christopberson kicked a penalty goal. KEPHESENTATIVE TEAM. TO MEET WAIRABAVA. Baker (Poneke). Emergencies: Corner (Petone). Sherrick (Poneko), Poulter (Oriental), Slater (Poneke), Scott (Petone). ASSOCIATION GAMES AT THE PARK. Saturday was fairly fine, bnt the previous two days' rain had softened the city reserves to such an extent, that no games were allowed at Duppa Street. -Newtown Park, Anderson Park, or Kelburn. At Association Park, however, all the fixtures wore played. There was a good attendance" of spectators. Third Grade. A very fine exhibition of football was given by both teams in the Eamc Marist v. Institute, at Association Park. Both teams were in good form, and a fast, clean game was witnessed. The teams were very evenly matched. There were no scores for cithor side. Mr. F. Ealßton was referee. Johnsonville 1, Wadcstown 0. ■ . Fourth Grade. After a fine performance throughout flic -season, Empire at last met their equals on Saturday, and were defeated by Karori by si* goals to throe. Institute IP, Kilbirnie 0. Thorndon defeated .Tohnsonvillo by 10 goals to 1. Scorers for Thorndon: O'Neill 4. Thomas 3, Tlobertson 2, and Morgan; for Johnsonville, White. Fifth A Division. Marist defeated Porirua by 6 goals to 1. Fifth B Grade. Kilbirnie. defeated St. Peter's at Association Park by six goals to nil. Boys Institute B 2, Institute 0 I.'
