PAY OF BRITISH SOLDIERS AND SAILORS
LABOUR CAMPAIGN FOR LARGE . INCREASES. London, July 20. The Federation of Trades Unions is inviting members of both Houses of Parliament to confer with the trades unions at tho House nf Commons on August I to consider tlie question of soldiers' and sailors' pay. The federation states that the price of the men's needs is enormously increasing, and where British battalions are stationed alougside colonial troops tho Britisher can only look at the commodities and curse the parsimony which gives him one-sixth of tho pay' received by Australians and Now Zcalandors. It'was not decent for the stay-at-homes to talk patriotism while I his etnndnl continued.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable A*sn. [The Federation of Trade Unions has already circularised members of Parliament urging the support of tho Labour Party's motion to increaso tho pay of soldiers and sailors by 200 per cent.] J
