THE SECOND DIVISION CONFERENCE
FURTHER RESOLUTIONS. . The Second Division Conference wap continued in Wellingtoji yesterday. Mr. E. A. Armstrong presided. The following resolutions were made:— "That financial assistance granted by the Financial Board should be extended to include the liabilities of the wife of a reservist where living with her husband." "That in the event of a soldier being declared missing or killed the allotments and separation allowances be continued until the pension is granted." "That the conference urge on the Government that the provisions of the Financial Aid Department be extended to the widow of deceased soldiers by carrying out the financial aid as relates to mortgages' and rates as by right, due allowance to be made if life insurance policy is paid." "Single disabled soldier after marriage to receive all benefits accruing to married soldiers." "That allocated pay and allowances shall not be atfoctcd by misconduct of soldier." "That a ration allowance of 2s. 6d. per day be paid to all soldiers, whether married or single, while on final leave." "That -'allowances be paid monthly, commencing from the time a 'soldier leaves for camp." "That the Government shall pay a soldier's obligations as defined in the War Regulations of January 16, 1917, provided the amount incurred does not exceed £2 a week." The conference will resume to-day after the deputation to Parliament.
