PRICE OF CHEESE

There is a good possibility that before Now Zealand cheese manufactured in the coming season roaches tho. British market, a considerable inereaso in prico will be allowed to the New •Zealand producers by the Imperial Government. At present tho prico is 9!d. per H>., but when this price was fixed it was agreed that if. a higher prico was paid for cheese from any other country, a corresponding increase should be allowed to New Zealand. It is understood that the.prico of Canadian cheese is 11-Jd. per lb., and that an equivalent prico will be paid for cheese in this country. Thcro will probably ho bigger cost for freight from Now Zealand, and heavier charges for longer storage, and for these reasons the-net price to tho New Zealand producer may be less.
