COMPETITIONS AT MAItTON. (By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) "■ Marton, July 5. Tho annual ploughing match held at; Martoa under tho auspices of tho Martou Farmers' Union prove<l a great success, the very liberal prize money attracting entries from all parts. Tho first prize, .£lO, tho champion, cup value X 8 Bs., and a gold medal, was won. by A. ,T. Daley. The second prize of X 7 was awarded to 1". King, and tho third prizo of XI to A. Coleman. Tho fourth prize, X 3, wont to A. Gray, and fifth,-XI, to L. Eredericli. Class B (open to men who have not won a first prizo in men's classes) resulted as follows:—G. Griffin,-1 (X 7 and gold medal). A. GrifEen, 2 (X 5)- R. (Jaison, 3 (X 3). D. Eraser, 1 (XI). Class 0 (for youths under 20 years of ago who have not won a prizo in this class) was won by R. Coleman, whoso achievement entitled him to X 5 and a gold medal valuo two guineas, donated by Mr. E. Newman, M.P., and a gold medal donated as a points prize by Mr. H. C. Gower.. Tho first awards respectively for the lwst finish in Class A (best finish on field and s'traightest ploughing) were won by It. Coleman. Over twenty teams were engaged, and included some very fine animals. The. award for the best four-horse team went to E. C. Gaisford, and for the best three-horse team to 0. Jefferson.
