Mr. J. ll'Murray Cole, of Onehunga, is a medical student (fourth year) of the Edinburgh University. He is now travelling in Wales. Lieutenant Norman Beresford Lovett, M.C., has received a bar to his Military Cross. He carried an important message through the most intense hostile barrage,' saving the eituation at a critical time;'
Mis. and Miss Beaumont, of Dunedin, have been on a visit to the N.Z.F.A. Headquarters in Lancashire, where Sergeant Beaumont is stationed.
Mr. Reginald Clarke, of Auckland, is arranging a concert party to visit Walton Hospital, . Mr., Clarke ia a wellknown composer, and is an excellent nnd most sympathetic (accompanist. .The' Misses Ethel M. and Prances W. Lee, of Hawke's Bay, have arrived in London. The former is staying at Henrietta Street, Cavendish Square, and the latter is at St.. George's Hospital, Hydo Park Corner.
Mr. M. Hands, M.A., B.Sc, formerly Senior Science Master at the Waitalu Hoys' Higli School, Oamarn, who canio to England to do munition work, is working under Professor H. B. Dixon at Manchester University. Mr. Albert F. Sellars (Christchurchj, who was pilot-instructor at the London and Provincial Plying School at Hendon Aerodrome for a time, is noyr stationed at the Cheltenham and West'of England Aviation Co. ; Both schools are used for straining officers of E.FIC.
At the bazaar in aid of. St. Dunstan's, at the Albert Hall, on May 7, 8, 9, unci 10, the New Zealand stall will be No. 7 on the left-hand side of the inaiu entrance. General Richardson's friends are congratulating him on attaining the rank of grandfather. On Monday of last week his daughter, Mrs. Westley, had a son. The Misses L. S. and M. Laurie, sisters of JjSr.. P. ! A. Laurie, of Okristchui'ch, "who formarly ran the New Zealand tearooms at Hove, Brighton, are now tryhig to obtain war work and hope to go to France.
Mrs. N. Alfred Nathan, of Wickford (Auckland), who came to England twelve months ago with her daughter, Mrs. D. F. Kettle, has presented a kinema to the New Zealand Hospital at ■Walton-on-Tharnes. Mrs. D. Kettle has since married Major W. Keginald Trick.
Miss Vera Humphrey, only daughter of My. and Mrs. J. D. Humphrey (N.Z.). of Bruce Grove, Tottenham, has written a very clever little plaj entitled "Lucy's Adventure," which' vill be produced b>l herself and little girl friends on the occasion of her 13th birthday, the proceeds, to be devoted to the funds of the Hed Cross' Society.
A centre of great attraction to.many Londoners, as well as to New Zealanders, is the golden casket presented to Mr. Massey by the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths' Company • and now on show in New Zealand House windows. The main note of the design is the New Zealand fern. It is surmounted by a solid figure of the British Lion, and at each end there are charming figures, one of a- New Zealand soldier 1 in full marching kit, the other of a Maori in Native dress. The monogram of "W.F.M." and coats-of-arms are in brilliant enamel, while inset are views of the GuiiUThall, wherein the Prime Minister received the seal of ctizenship of London.
