PARLIAMENT
The House of Representatives met at 2130 p.m. - ' The Wanganui Church Acre Amendment Bill (a private Bill in charge of Mr. Veitch) was introduced and read a first time. Mr. V. H. Reed, the , newly elected member for the Bay of Islands, took the Oath of Allegiance. His sponsors were Mr. D. H. .Guthrie and Mr. W. Nosworthy. Mr. T. A. H. FIELD (Nelson) gave notieo of tho Nelson Harbour Board Empowering Bill, 1917.
Tho Foxton Harbour Board Act 190S Amendment Bill) Mr. W. H. Field), the Tauranga Harbour Act Amendment and Foreshore Vesting, Bill (tho Hon. Vf. H. Herries), and the Contractors' Relief Bill (tho Hon. A. L. Hordman) were introduced and read a- first time.
Tho Expiring I*aws Continuance Bill was introduced by Governor's Message and read a,first time.
Practically.the whole of the Afternoon and evening were occupied by Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward, who gave details of the business of their recent visit to England.
