Hunter, M P , who pledged himself to do all he could to secure six o'clock closing. It that were not possible of achievement, he would endeavour bo secure the largest possible curtailment of the existing lioter hours. ■' ■'-
Mention was made in-out political notes yesterday of a, report that the Licensed Trade is anxious to compromise on the question of closing hours. This report, ive are assured by the president of' the New Zealand Licensed Victuallers' Association, is quite incorrect. The matter, he states, has not been officially considered. . ... ' ...'
