MORE PUBLICITY FOR NEW ZEALAND
MR. MASSEY'S PROPOSAL.
"New .Zealand must have more publicity in the United Kingdom," said the '.Prime Minister yesterday after referring to the inadequacy and occasional inaccuracy of the cable news. "We are suffering in comparison with other DoI minions because we are too- modest. I They have their publicity bureaux, on which they, spend considerable sums of money. We have got to do something in proportion to our trade and population. I am going to ask for authority to publish in London newspapers, at the expense of the Dominion, the fortnightly reports of the little Department that deals with the produce that we are selling to the Imporial Government;-. The report shows the quantity of meat, butter, and cheese that we have in store in this country awaiting shipment'. We have done our best to secure additional shippiug for the carriage of our produce, aud we intend to continue our efforts In that direction. Thft publication of thoso reports in London will help. There is a scarcity of food in the United Kingidom, and if the people there are told of the huge quantities of meat, butter, and cheese that we are waiting to send to them, they will have an interest in helping us to get the ships.. Public opinion will be aroused, and, that is what wo want. Those fortnightly statements will help us to get ships, and will be a splendid advertisement for New Zealand." -
