RUGBY FOOTBALL
SATURDAY'S MATCHES. Two first-grado Hugby matches were played at Athlotie Paris on Saturday. Ponolto met Oriental, and as had been expected, the conteet was a very interesting one; in fact, tUo play was quito up to the standard of tho jood old timee when there was no war, and when the football teams were recruited from a vejy much larger number of eligibloe than thero are to-day. The game resulted in a draw, both teams scoring twelve point*. For Poneke, MTarlanc and Desmond each scored two tries, and for Oriental Dwyer, Ferguson, Edwards, Newdick each, tcored one try. Old Boys, in their match against Wellington, won by 25 points to 3. Wellington's only try was scored by 6a,vedant. For Old Boys, Tonks and Taylor each scored threo tries, and Brooker one try, while Harris converted two. Wellington Oollege won its match with Athletio by 48 pointe to three.
