GLUT OF AMBULANCES
GIVING THEM AWAY,
A little less than a year ago Wellington's ambulance service was far short of requirements until the Hospital Board secured two new ambulances, the Harbour Board one, and the Petono Borough Council one. Tho City Council was going to provide one and house it on the site of the band rotunda in Jervois Quay, but finality was never reached. Testerday the members of the board were informed that the second motor ambulance had been duly/delivered^ This left the board with three horsedrawn ambulances on their hands. And, acting on the advice of the Hospital Committee, it was resolved to offer them to Levin. Shannon, and Otaki for nothing. They should be very handy vehicles for such, places, where tho demand for ambulances is necessarily restricted. Ono of these ambulances was the property of the St. John Ambulance Society up till a year ago. (
