ST.fDUN'STAN'S CANDY BOOK"
A PATRIOTIC EFFORT. A most useful and dainty gift book has recently been compiled by the ladies of the Lower Ilutt in aid of soldiers and sailors who have- been blinded in the war. It is composed of recipes contributed by many expert sweet-makers, and buyers of the book may bo quite convinced that every recipo is a safe and tried one. In these days, when at practically every public function sweets aro sold for the benefit of the Red Cross Funds- or somo other, patriotic object, the book should be particularly useful, as it contains a wide and varied collection of recipes, finishing up with that best of all recipes, a recipo for a happy life. The proceeds resulting from the sale of the book go to St. Dunstan'e Hostel, .1 plate of which appears on one of the front pages. Altogether "St. Diinstan's Candy Book" should bo a welcome guide to tho makers of .sweets both in AVellinprton and elsewhere.
Her Excellency the Countess of Liverpool, in a letter received by the lion, secretary of tho committee by whom tho
''St. Dunstan's Candy Book" has been issued, writes expressing her interest in and good wishes for the success of tho causo it is compiled to help, and al«> adds: "I am' delighted with it—it is so nicely got up, and the object for which it is published, to aid the funds of St. Dunstan's, must appeal to everyone. I wish it all success."
