SHOOTING .COMPETITIONS. The Wellington companies of the Post and Telegraph Engineers' Corps recently competed for -prizes given by the Departmental controlling officers. AH matches were carried out under strict service conditions, namely, rifles as issued, slings barred, service targets, nnd service marking. Whitmore, No. 8 Co., 23, 25, 20; total, 67. B Grade; prizes donated by Colonel W. D. Morris and Mr. B. A. Shrimpton. Ranges 200, 300, and 500 yards—Sapjer W. Weston, No. 8 Co., 22, 25, 18; total, 65. Corpl. W. Yates, No. B Co., 23. 20, 21; total, 64. O Grade Competition; prizes donated by Messrs. A. P. Dryden. and J. Powell. Ranges, 200, 300, and 500 yards—Sapper L. H. Baliiell, No. 7 Co., 25, 20, 9; total, 54. Sapper W. A. Lceming, No. 7 Co., 16, 19, 15; total, 50. Highest score made, at 600 yards—Lieut. It. S. James, 20.
