SUPREME COURT A MOTOR DEAIi. In tlio Supremo Court yesterday, His Honour Hr. Jubtico Hosking and u. jury of twelve heard si oiiso arising out of an agreement for tlio sale and purchr.se of a Pathfinder motor-car. Clarkson's Motors, I/td, motor-car importers, Wellington, claimed from C. H. Barrington, motor-car proprietor, also of Wellington, the 6u'm of £145 135., alleged to be balance duo on the- liiro of tho above-named oar and accessories. Defendant counter-claimed for £340, to cover various alleged losses over tho transaction, and also claimed the return of £200, whichi ho said ho had paid down as pur-chase-money. .. Plaintiffs had seized tho car, contending that they were entitled to do so, because of defendant's failuro to fulfil tio conditions of tho agreement with thorn. Defendant contended that tho soizuro of the property by plaintiffs was wrongful. llr. T. Young nippcarml Tor plaintiffs, and Itr. M, Myers for defendant. Evidence was hoard, and tho Court adjourned tiil to-day. MAGISTRATE'S COURT POLICE CASES. Mr. L. G. Reid, S.M., presided at tho Magistrate's Court jesterday, and dealt with the poli;o cases. For insobriety an old offender named Edith Sheridan, who failed to appear, had her bail of 203. entreated. William Waters and Alexanders Waters were each fined 205., In the alternative to servo seven days in gaol. Three flrstoffendorswero convicted and discharged. A month's imprisonment was Imposed on Mary Ann Allen, who was convicted of being on idlo nnd disorderly person, in that she possessed insufficient lawful moans of support. Robert John Ashley was charged with committing <\n unnatural offence, and on the application of the police- was remanded to. Wednesday.. MAINTENANCE CASES. Orders wro made in maintenance casos as follows:—John Buckley, 10s. a week; Alexander Johnson, ss. a week, in default fourteen , daye' imprisonment: Archibald Robertson, ss. a week, with the option of fonrteen days' imprisonment: Thomas Francis Bustin, £1 a week, in the alternative fourteen days' imprisonment; Sydney Hall, 10s. a, week, in default fourteen daye' imprisonment; Frederick Edwards, £1 forthwith, or to serve seven days in eaol.
