OUTLOOK IN CHINA IMPROVED
PROSPECTS OF PEACEFUL SETTLEMENT (liec. June 10, 5.5 p.m.) Tientsin, June 9. The situation has improved. The militarists disclaim any fntontion of overthrowing the Republic, and say that they do not desire the President's resignation. General Chang-Hung has -undertaken to mediate; It is believed that the militarists will be satisfied if Parliament is diesolved. The President is not expected to oppose this.—Aus.-i\ : .Z. Cable Assn. (P>ec. .Tune 10, 11.5 p.m.) Peking, June 10. General Chang Hung, with five thousand troops, Tfas reached Tieutein, <sa. route to Jelcins to confer with the military governors. He received almost royal honours. He advocates tho dissolution of "Parliament in order to Settls the crisis. The majority of the members of Parliament have departed. Three thousand of General Humg's troops are already at the' capital— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Asen*.
