THEIR PART JN THE WAR. (Kec. June 8, 5.5 p.m.) London, Juno 7. t In the House of Commons, -Jlr. Stanton (Independent Labour) asked why hundreds and thousands of coloured members of the Empire, who were ready and willing to go to the front, were not used. Jlr, Macpherson (Under-Secretary for War) replied that the means, of utilising to the best advantage the services of the coloured peoples had been thoroughly investigated. Coloured contingents already woro rendering useful service in several spheres of the war, and arrangements wero in hand both for reinforcing the existing contingents and forming new I ones.—Eeuter.
