AX ALLEGED GAMING-HOUSE. A police raid upon an alleged g.'noiiighouso took placo yesterday - morning. About 11.15 Detectivo-Sei-gCiißt Cos, acooinpaiiied by Dolective Carney mid, Umstablo Black, searched the hairdresser a shop of Gilbert Homy Price, at 1-* Lambton Quay. . Tho police seized alleged boiling "books, etc., and nmwtrd Prico on a charge of keeping- a common gaining-housc.' They arrested Jonii Henry West and Wi Puki -Smith- on charges of assisting Price to conduct a gaming-house, and they also took m charge eijtht other men who were louml on the premises. All the accused W™ haled before Mr. E. Arnold, J.P., m the afternoon, and were remanded on bail to appear before the Magistrate thw morning. • . ' Later in tho afternoon (he police arrested/Albert William Organ, bookseller, upon iv charge of belting on licensed premises, to wit, tho Grand Hotel; : Organ was admitted to bail, and will also appear in Court to-day. •
