SOUTHERN MARKETS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, ,Tuho 1. The grain market is very quiet, tbero being practically no wheat or oats offering. Advice has been received i'roin Auckland that some Australian oats purchased have been rosokl or the orders cancelled. This is probably in view of the fact that the shipping space mil be Teqliired for bringing wheat over. Some samples of Queensland wheat have been received in Ckristchurch, and it is offered .'it a much lower rate than that fixed in other States. Queensland and Tasmania are not in tho wheat pool, as it was' considered that they would not ljave .in exportable surplus, but it has turned out that Queensland has more wheat than is required, and cannot find a market for it. Tho potato market is dull, as merchants are una.blo to obtain many orders, and at the sanio time there are not many potatoes offering; Much of low-lying potato land is now waterlogged, and the crops aro bound to suffer. ' There is not much oat-sheaf chaff offering, and the business passing is limited. ,
