SOUTH ISLAND DAIRY ASSOCIATION
Bv Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, May 31. The South Island Dairy Association has decided to urge the Government to leave sufficient men to work sawmills and provide'the necessary timber for butter boxes and cheese cases next season. The association is also urging the Government to annoint an agent in Southland to attend to Southland business. The sum of .£SO was voted the chairman for ma past year's work. A similar sum is to. bo divided amongst the directors, me incoming year's remuneration is to be XSO, and all directors will receive 21s. per day while conduct™? the association's business, plus outotpoeket expenses. ~ A motion was carried recommending that no factory complete the sale ot its output before submitting the offer to the association and receiving a reply as to the best offer obtainable. It was decided to suggest thattne t.overnment retain \iu New Zealand a sutticient number of qualified men to continuo the dairy industry. , The next annual meeting is to be held at Christehurch.
