Not so very long ago Sir Arthur went over to Prance to help tho cause of tho blinded officers and poilus there, and.it is quite likely that era long ho may pay a visit to Italy for the same purpose. Every idea for bettering the lot of the blind gains earnest consideration from him, and the men ■tfho. havo lost their eyesight hail him as nothing short of a deliverer, so strenuously does be strive to alleviate the hardship that has fallen "to their'lot.

The death took place on Sunday, at iDannevirke, of Mother Marie St. jane 'Aβ Chantal, who came to New Zealand from France about twelve years ago. ■The deceased nun was teaching at the Sacred Heart, Convent, Christchurch, ■until last year, when her health flagging, she was ordered to the more- bracing climate of Dannevirke by her medical advteers.
