TO-DAY'S BALLOT
OVEK £000 NAMES TO BE DItAAYN.
The drawing of tho tighth ballot under the Military Sen-ice Act will be begun to-day. Over 8000 names are to be taken, from the roll of those remaining ui the First Division of the Expeditionary Force Reserve. The drawing is expected to be completed to-morrow,.and thenames of the selected reservists will be published in a Gazette Extraordinary on AVeduesday of next week. . The roll of tho .First Division contains approximately 39,000 names at the present time, and this week's ballot will reduce the number to the neighbourhood of 30 000. Three more ballots at the present rate will bring the number down to about GOOO. There may be no ballot in Sen- ( temuer, einco the remaining First Division men may be called up en Woe. lh» loted. .
