SATURDAY'S MATCHES. - Perfect football weather was .experienced ou Saturday, and the. matches generally, wero fast. Following are the results of games:— Third,B Grade. The town match was between Marist and Switts, and after the first quarter of an hour, from a spectacular point of view, it was hardly interesting, as it developed into practically a practice match for Marist. This is. accounted lor by the fact that only five of Swifts' uriginal team appeared on tho ground, and they had to draw on fourth and even fiftu-class members to make a team. They played one man short. Naturally the Marist team were almost as heavy again as Swifts, .and kept the ball in their' opponents' half, knocking up tho large score of 19 goals, to nil, Guys, in the goal for Swifts, did good work, and. stopped a number of goals. The scorers I for Marist were Marshall 3, Moonej' -1, Scanlan 3, Conroy 2, M'Elligott 1, Turner 1, Hickey 1, Gallagher 2, Spencer 1, Daniels, 1. Mr. J. Leddy refereed. At Petone' a good even game was played between Karori ,and St. David's, audi resulted in a win for the former by 8 goals to nil. Had not.Call, St. David's goal-keeper, done such good work tho score against 'them would probably have been larger. Mr.. A. Kyle was referee. Hutt and Institute met at Hutt, and a very interesting- game ended in'a draw, both sides scoring one goal. The play on the whole was very even, M'Cnw,' in goal for Hutt, played a brilliant game, and 'was ably assisted by G. Lusty at left full-back.- -For Institute Ball, Murie, and Brownlie plated well in the backs, and Mance, M'Arthur, and Eastwood in tho forwards. M'Arthur, for Institute,, and R. Lusty, for Hutt, were the scorers; Mr. E. O'Conncll was the referee.

Y.M.C.A. v. Johnsonville, at Johnsonrille, was a very evenly-contested game. The second half was particularly keen, Johusnnvillo having bad luck in not scoring. The gamo ended with Y.M.C.A. 1, .Tohnsonvillo 0, Knowles being the scorer. Mr. B. Hill tefereed. Fourth' Grade. Thornd'ou v. Island Bay, at Kelburn, resulted in a win tor 'lnorndon by V goals to nil. Scorers ior Tlionuloii were Hilton (3), Morgan (3), Eton (lj, and lor Island IJay Neuter. Rowe played a lino game in goal for. the. losers, and Thorndon's forwards wero very good.

St. David's v. Kilbirnie, at Petone, resulted in a win lor Kilbirnie by 5 goals to nil.

Marist defeated Karori by four goals to one.

South Wellington defeated Y.M.C.A. 'M,by 11 goals to nil. ' i Empire defeated Institute. B by 7 goals .-to' nil. For the winners goals' were scored by Taylor (4), Daly \2), and '.J. Babbitt. ■ Y.M.C.A. 3, Institute A3. Bond (2) and Smith scored for. Institute. . Fifth A Grade. At Porirua, South Wellington defeated Porirua by two goals to. nil. This- is the.first time that Porirua has been beaten in the past two seasons. .The match was. keenly contested. Mr. C. Webster was referee. . Marist defeated Thorpdon by a goatu to one. Fifth B Grade. Stars defeated institute C by 5 goals to 2. . ' St. David's won from Marist by de-. fauit. Island Bay v. Institute resulted in a draw, both sides scoring-2 goals. Boyd and.
