SATURDAY'S RUGBY GAMES
First-grade matches wore played on Saturday afternoon at Athletic Park, Wellington College Ground, Newtown Park, and Petone. Following are the results :— 26th v. 29th Reinforcements. This was a specially-arranged game, played at Athletic Parle. In tho first half, Caughey and M'Rae scored' tries for the 2(lths, and Mercer converted one. For tho 20ths Ix»vo scored n try. The only score in the second half was a try by Pratt for. the 23ths. Tho 2Gths thus won by 8 to 6. University v. Wellington. University won by ID' points to it. .Jackson, for University, and Knight and Tinnock, for Wellington, scored tries in tho first spell. In the second half, Uuseell and ll'Kae scored tries, which were converted by .Norton, for University. , Lavendnnt scored another try for Wellington. , Athletic v. St. Patrick's. St. Patrick's College won by G points to 5. Dealy and Minehan scored tries for the College, while Athletic registered one try, which was converted. The game was piayed at Newtown Park. Poneke v. Wellington College. ■ Poneke won by nine points to six. Tries for College were scored by M'lCegg and Nicol. Christoplisen kicked a penalty goal for Poneke, and M'Fnrlaneand Black each scorod a try. Oriental v. Petone. At Petone, the Petone teum defeated Oriental.by 17 points to nine. .
