SUPPLY OF SHEEP-DIP
It having been recently reported to the. Department of Agriculture (on private trade advices from England) that the export of sheep-dip from Great Britain to New Zealand might shortly bo-prohibit-ed unless official representation's were made to the Imperial authorities, tho following cablegram was dispatched by the Government to the Priiuo Minister (Mr. Masscy), iu London:— "Alleged hero that oxport of sheepdips and ingredients to New' Zealand are likely to be prohibited. Please' jnako representations regarding the ' extreme importance of this material to pur wool and meal, and necessity of onsifring raw materials and shipping space for Home manufacturer!?.'' /
The following reply was received from Mr. Massey:— _" ■ "I am .inforived by Secretary of State for Hie Colonics that, wltilo it is necossary to prohibit sulphur, it is hoped that it will ?iot be necessary to interfere with manufacture of sheep-dips in United Kingdom—at. nay rate, so far as selfgoverning Dominions aro concerned."
