Sir James Allen has received from the High Commissioner ,a: report, .in reference -to the assistance -forwarded to.British'; prisoners of war..••in,. -Turkey and Germany; Sir Thomas Mackenzie States: ' "1 have received a copy of a report from the American Ambassador at Constantinople on the subject of supplies to British prisoners of war in Turkey. Considerable consignments were sent to Afium Kara Hissar. Angoria, and Bilemdii Pozanti, where the majority of our prisoners are interned., i "The following New Zealand uj'isonei's in Turkey have been transferred to Constantinople: Tpr.. J. C' M'Lennan (Auckland M.R.),- Pte: Norman Steel (Wellington Battalion), and Leading Stoker Archibald Wilson. Letters and acknowledgments Kavo also been received from Prisoner Norman Steel (Wellington Battalion), Ptc. G. F. -.Monk .-(Wellington Battalion), Pte. R. Surgenor. ■ v "Very.few communications have been received from prisoners in Germany during the last fortnight, and the experience of all the Prisoners of War ( Association indicates that there is* serious irregularity with regard to the delivery of parcels. The only acknowledgment since mv last report is from Pte. A. S. Moriteith." '■'.'■'•'' [Afium Kara Hissar is in Asia Minor, on the junction of the Constantinople and Smyrna railways to the east, and is JBS miles east of Smyrna, 'Angoria is 150 miles north-east of Afium. The third town is not named in available maps.l
